Offensive Security Engineer / Full-stack builder
I build, break, document, automate, and occasionally procrastinate.
I am Abdullah Mehtab: an offensive security engineer who builds practical systems across web/API testing, backend engineering, DevOps, AI/ML, and IoT.
About
Hi, I'm Abdullah.
I graduated from Forman Christian College with a Computer Science degree and a minor in Mathematics. My academic work, project experience, and technical society involvement gave me a broad base across software engineering, cybersecurity, AI/ML, IoT, and applied problem solving.
I prefer work with evidence: reports, demos, logs, diagrams, test results, and enough context for another person to understand what changed.
Proof
Security depth and engineering range.
Assessed systems, shipped projects, documented decisions, technical competitions, academic recognition, and a public trail of practical work.
Security
Offensive security work, web/API testing practice, vulnerability reporting, and OWASP-aligned remediation thinking.
Engineering
Backend, DevOps, IoT, ML, embedded systems, compilers, games, and search projects, with code and working artifacts across the trail.
Public trail
Early projects, games, comments, money honesty, and personal notes keep the portfolio human while the technical work stays central.
What I do
Security-first engineering with range.
I work across offensive security, backend systems, DevOps workflows, AI/ML experiments, IoT prototypes, and documentation that makes technical decisions easier to review.
Offensive Security
Web/API testing, vulnerability assessment, OWASP Top 10, Active Directory practice, reporting, remediation guidance, and ongoing HTB/PortSwigger work.
Backend, DevOps, and Data
Backend demos, deployment architecture, Docker, Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, monitoring stacks, dashboards, and enough logs to question reality.
Cross-Domain Projects
Cyber Sentinel, automated pentest reports, AI admissions chatbot, time-series ML, IoT monitoring, compilers, games, robots, and early experiments.
Services
What I can actually help with.
Anything from a full build to a second opinion, with enough honesty to say when a simpler solution is better.
Cybersecurity Consulting
Offensive and defensive security work across web/API testing, Wazuh, ELK Stack, reporting, remediation, and system-hardening thinking.
Custom Software Development
Clean, maintainable applications in Python, Java, C/C++, and JavaScript, from backend utilities to automation scripts and AI-driven chatbots.
Machine Learning & AI Solutions
Model training, NLP-style assistants, forecasting practice, exploratory analysis, and deployment experiments that can be explained without fog machines.
Embedded Systems & IoT
IoT prototypes with Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, Google Sheets logging, and practical monitoring/control workflows.
Full-Stack Web Development
Responsive applications, backend demos, admin workflows, routing, data modeling, and interfaces that do more than sit there looking pretty.
Project Management
Coordination, documentation, research, client communication, and delivery tracking from freelance projects, hackathons, and academic work.
Featured Projects
Selected builds across security, IoT, and low-level ML.
Cyber Sentinel
A low-cost security monitoring SIEM integrating Wazuh, ELK Stack, and Suricata, with deployment automation and email alerting.
Smart LED Monitoring
ESP32-based logging into Google Sheets through a custom web app, because even LEDs deserve accountability.
Linear Regression in Assembly
A MIPS Assembly implementation of linear regression, built to connect low-level programming with machine learning fundamentals.
Timeline
Career, projects, competitions, and early technical roots.
Associate Offensive Security Engineer - Tkxel
Authorized web/API assessments, vulnerability research, reporting, OWASP-aligned remediation, and active offensive security practice.
Engineering Intern - Tkxel
Rotated through BA, UI/UX, development, SQA, cyber, and DevOps with project-based learning in Agile engineering environments.
AI-Powered University Admissions Chatbot
Designed a conversational assistant to streamline university admissions inquiries using Python and NLP-style query handling.
Remote Project Manager - Freelancing
Led research and documentation work for technical projects, coordinating delivery details and keeping work moving.
Smart LED On-Time Monitoring System
Built an ESP32 system that logs LED usage into Google Sheets through a web app, combining embedded work, cloud logging, and analytics.
Cyber Sentinel - Wazuh, ELK, Suricata
Final Year Project: a cost-effective security monitoring stack with deployment automation, alerting, and small-environment practicality.
Teacher Assistant - Forman Christian College
Led labs, evaluated quizzes and assignments, managed student records, and learned that teaching exposes every weak explanation immediately.
2nd Place - Web Development Competition
Secured second place at Forman Ignite 2024 for a full-stack web application.
Expression Parser Compiler Construction
Built a C-based parser/evaluator for arithmetic expressions using automata and compiler construction fundamentals.
Linear Regression in Assembly
Implemented linear regression in MIPS Assembly. Not the easiest route, but definitely a memorable one.
